Hello Starweb Fans Here is the premise of this little email discussion group. It is dedicated to discussions on Starweb. In other listservs I have co- operated in I have noted a huge volume problem that made it difficult to keep up with. To combat this I think I would like to make a few informal rules. 1) I am not going to let the distribution list for the SEDG be seen. It will be sent out as blind copies to prevent the inevitable 'reply all' response of a well meaning reader who subsequently spams the group. If you want to comment on something that was said - whether it be to refute, clarify or add then send it to me. If it looks interesting enough I will add it to the next installment in the correspondence section. 2) I will only publish the email address of the author of a submitted piece if they wish me to. Otherwise, only their name will be on the byline. If you want to discuss something with the author of a note - you will need to email me at the SEDG and communicate via the correspondence section. 3) I managed to do this biweekly, then monthly at first but I don't see myself sending stuff out more often than every other month. By all means I invite you to submit an article for publication. 4) The style will be a longer feature article (or two of moderate length). There is a question section, Flying Moose Technologies Starweb Analyzer Section (with lots of tips about the Analyzer and news) and a Correspondence section. The Web based SEDG also has a mapping section where you can browse old SW maps. 5) This is NOT A LISTSERV. There is a human being at the other end of the email address. So when you sign up - don't just send an email with the word 'subscribe' - say hello and I will write you back and confirm your subscription. This is not being done professionally but for the love we all have for the game. Don't be shy - make submissions. Correspondence to somnos@compuserve.com El
